Berwyn is proud to announce the 9th Annual Best of Berwyn Junior Citizen Recognition Program in which North Berwyn Park District searches for the top 8th Grade students in the City of Berwyn. The Best of Berwyn program currently accepted nominations from community organizations, governmental bodies and educational institutions in Berwyn. The nominees are well-rounded community volunteers, and display high ethical and moral behavior. Students’ community service, academic excellence, extracurricular activities and potential for success were considered. After a thorough nomination and judging process the candidates will be honored, along with their families, at the annual Best of Berwyn Banquet.
NEW THIS YEAR The entire group of Best of Berwyn finalists will be rewarded with a leadership camping trip that will provide them with an outdoor living experience unique in today’s world-an experience which challenges a diverse group of young people to develop skills of self-confidence while fostering respect, responsibility and compassion for themselves, their community and the environment.
"This experience has truly been empowering. I have gained confidence from the community service I’ve done and everything I have achieved until now, but more so from being recognized for my hard work as 2009 Best of Berwyn recipient,” Ana Valdovinos, winner of the Best of Berwyn 2009.
