A free monthly storytelling event hosted by 2-time Moth winner Errol McLendon

Everyone tells stories. At family gatherings. In bars and coffee shops. Here is your opportunity to share your personal stories with your community. Stories can be funny or poignant. About love or tragedy, or maybe both. They can be about something you learned or something you wish you had never done. Something historic you witnessed or were a part of.

If you would like to participate in our upcoming Jams please submit a description of a 7 - 8 minute story you would like to tell to errol.mclendon@gmail.com to be included in an evening of friends sharing stories with friends. First time tellers are welcomed and encouraged.

A free Zoom workshop will be offered two weeks prior to each show to help enhance your story in a relaxed, informal environment. One-on-one coaching will also be available.

Concessions will be available for purchase

Dawn Haney is new to the storytelling world, but has extensive experience in theatre. She graduated from SIU, which is also where she met her now husband, Paul. She is a proud mother of Linus, who is graduating from film school in California in a couple of weeks (and she is not afraid to exploit any connections you may have) and Ben, soon to be finishing his Freshman year at Triton College.

Dawn enjoyed 12 wonderful years working at Tree House Humane Society where she served as a Veterinary Technician, Adoption Counselor, Animal Assisted Therapy Manager, Communications Director, Behavioral Counselor, and Program Manager of the Foster Parent Program - although not always at the same time! After that she was  the trainer/handler/spokesperson for a pretty famous feline (more about that in her story!), worked for a time at the Lincoln Park Zoo (until Covid stopped that) and is still working on saving animals by being a part of protecting their environment – at her work at the Forest Preserves of Cook County.
