Berwyn, IL – The North Berwyn Park District is excited to announce an opening for the position of Recreation Supervisor - Athletics Programs. We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills who has the ability to develop, implement, and supervise recreational programs and special events. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the community through sports and recreation.

Position Overview:

The Recreation Supervisor will report directly to the Superintendent of Recreation and will be responsible for overseeing a variety of athletic programs such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, travel teams, and flag football. The ideal candidate will be customer-service oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to manage staff, coaches, and volunteers effectively. This position includes medical benefits and a retirement plan and requires some nights and weekends.

Salary: $45,000 - $48,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, and evaluate full-time and part-time staff
• Oversee all athletic programs, including soccer, travel soccer, basketball, travel basketball, volleyball, and flag football
• Develop new programs and improve or expand existing ones to meet community needs
• Maintain and submit reports on registration, attendance, payroll, budgets, schedules, and other documentation
• Ensure safety through regular inspections of equipment and facilities
• Manage and supervise spray pools and ensure their upkeep

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills
• Proficiency in computer software applications
• Ability to manage and motivate staff and volunteers
• Must be able to carry out duties associated with a comprehensive recreation program
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire
